How to Import From China to Zambia: A Simple Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Decide what to import

Start with a product you understand and that people in your area already buy. Compare the local price with the price in China. If the gap is large enough to cover shipping and still leave you a profit, it is worth importing.

Step 2: Find a good supplier

Most suppliers are found on Alibaba, 1688 and similar platforms. Look for suppliers with a clear product description, real photos and a solid track record. Be careful with very low prices on unknown sellers, because that is where most scams and quality problems happen.

Step 3: Check quality before you commit

Ask for samples or inspect the goods before they are shipped. A supplier's photos do not always match what is sent. Inspection is the step beginners most often skip, and the one that causes the most losses.

Step 4: Pay safely

Chinese suppliers usually want bank transfers or Chinese payment apps, which are hard for buyers in Zambia. Never send money to a supplier you have not checked. Using an agent means you pay the agent and the agent pays the supplier.

Step 5: Choose air or sea shipping

Air freight is faster and better for small, valuable or urgent goods. Sea freight is cheaper for bulky or heavy goods but takes longer. With EasyImport4U, air takes 3 to 6 working days and sea takes 14 to 21 days.

Step 6: Duty, taxes and delivery

Goods entering Zambia can be subject to duty and taxes, set by the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) and varying by product. Check how this applies to your goods before you buy, so the total cost does not surprise you.

The easy way: use an agent

An import agent does steps 2 to 5 for you. With EasyImport4U you create a free account, describe what you want and receive an itemized quotation with the product cost, the shipping fee and a 5% service fee. We buy, inspect in Guangzhou, ship and deliver, and you track everything on your dashboard.

Never guess where your parcel is: an email at every step

Some companies leave customers guessing and hoping for a phone call that may never come. With EasyImport4U you receive an email at every stage of progress, even the small ones: when your parcel leaves our Guangzhou warehouse on its way to the airport, when it is being inspected, when it is being repacked, and at each step after that until it is delivered.

Before we buy anything, our team sends you pictures and the price inside your private chat on the platform, never on WhatsApp or any third party app. You confirm by pictures, and we only buy when you say yes. Once your goods reach Lusaka, our own delivery team brings them to your home.

Everything is transparent, so you can relax at home knowing your parcel is with a dedicated team that keeps you informed from start to finish.
